Clerk

The Clerk's Office handles elections and cemetery reservations and manages records for the Township.

Cemetery Reservations

Alpine owns three cemeteries (see Township Properties for pictures and addresses). The fee for Alpine residents and their immediate family members is $150 per grave; a non-resident's fee is $250. The Clerk is responsible for cemetery records, grave sales, rules and burial arrangements; please contact the Clerk for information. For emergency weekend burial arrangements, please contact the Clerk at (616) 784-9667.

Voter Registrations

Prospective voters may register to vote at any local city or township office, Social Security Agency, or the Secretary of State's Office. A form can be downloaded from the State Secretary's Web site and mailed in. Prospective voters may register before their birthday if they will be 18 years old by election day. Registrations are due by October 4th.

Voting Locations and Equipment

As a result of the new election consolidation laws, registered voters in Alpine Township will vote in the same precinct location every time they vote. Please check your voting location on your ID card.

The Federal Help America Vote Act (H.A.V.A.) has provided funding for new standardized voting equipment for the entire State of Michigan. The new equipment is an updated version of the current optical equipment that Alpine voters are familiar with and have been using for several years.
