Parks and Recreation

The park's and recreational activities are handled jointly by the Township's Supervisor, Clerk, and Treasurer and the Softball Director. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan is under the direction of a sub-committee of the Planning Commission. Day-to-day oversight of the parks and employees is the responsibility of the Township officials.

Softball Program

Sue Alt is the director of the Township's Softball Program. Softball teams include Men's, Women's Over 30 and Co-ed. Any interest in this program should be directed to her via a message left for her at the Township Offices (616-784-1262).

Soccer Program

Alpine currently does not provide its own youth soccer program. We are in the process of evaluating requests for restarting the program from residents.  If your child is interested in soccer for the spring season, several of the school systems, groups in the area, and the City of Walker are offering a selection of programs. Meanwhile, work on the soccer fields at the Alpine Sports Complex will be continuing this spring.

We'll keep you updated on the status of the soccer program.

The Sports Complex, at the corner of Baumhoff and Alpine Church Rd., offers playground equipment, tennis courts, a walking track, softball/baseball fields, and four soccer fields. Independently run softball, soccer and baseball programs are also offered. Field use should be secured with a permit that can be obtained during regular business hours at the Township Offices.
