About Us

The Alpine Township Fire Department (ATFD) covers 36 square miles within Kent County.  The population of Alpine Township is approximately 14,000 which hosts a combination of residential, agricultural, and commercial properties.  We are a growing department, having recently transitioned to a 24-hour staffing model. We are also a BLS Non-transporting EMS agency.

ATFD is a combination department that employs Paid-on-Call (POC), Part-Time, and Full-Time staffing.
ATFD responds to approximately 1,300 calls a year for services out of three fire stations. Full-time personnel are based out of our Fire Station #1, which opened in 2022. Fire Station #1 is staffed by two firefighter/EMT's working a 24-hour shift.

Address Markers
Reflective address markers are available through the Township Fire Department. For an application, click here.  The green markers with white numbers can be ordered with a steel post, or without if you are installing the sign on an existing mailbox post. The signs can be picked up or arrangements for installation by a Fire Department volunteer may be requested. The cost for the marker is $15.00 (with or without the post).

ALPINE TWP. FIRE DEPT. STRATEGIC PLAN
The Comprehensive Alpine Twp. Fire Department Strategic Plan can be accessed by clicking here.   A brief summary of the plan can be accessed by clicking here.  The plan, completed in 2018 by McGraw Consulting Group, analyses the current staffing, education, EMS operations, apparatus, stations and budget.  It then makes recommendations on all of those's same items for the future.
